Phantasm® is a groundbreaking product that delivers an enormous amount of beer-soluble thiol precursors in a brewer-friendly format. This concentrated powder, derived from the skins of Sauvignon Blanc grapes grown in New Zealand, enables brewers to load wort streams with high amounts of essential thiol precursors, believed to provide the raw materials for beneficial biotransformation into highly aromatic thiols such as 3MH, 3MHA, and 4MMP. These thiols are an important group of beer-soluble compounds found in hops and grapes that impart strong tropical aromas to the beer.

The YCH 303 Trial is a co-pelleted blend of concentrated Cryo Hops® and Phantasm®. This pellet has been designed to utilize the high degree of survivable" compounds present in Cryo Hops® and Phantasm and to synergistically combine the aromatic benefits of these two powerful products into one dose. This experimental pellet is a testament to the creative nature that pushes the boundaries at the heart of craft brewing.

Recommendation: To maximize the biotransformation potential of this preparation, it is recommended to dose the pellets late in the so-called whirlpool or in the "cool pool." A dosage of 1.5-3 g/l is advised. The product contains alpha acids that should be taken into account when designing recipes. Some beers may benefit from the use of a "thiolized" yeast strain or any highly biotransforming yeast.

Cryo Hops® utilizes the most innovative technology in cryogenic processing, where whole leaf hops are separated into concentrated lupulin and steeped at extremely low temperatures to preserve essential oils and resins.
The result is the enticing LupuLN2® hop pellets, which double the potential of hops by 40-50% over traditional hop pellets at the same weight. This enhances hop flavor with juicy, resinous, and fruity characteristics, ideal for IPAs and beer styles.

 Cryo Hops® pellets are concentrated lupulin from whole leaf hops with resin and aromatic oil content. They are designed to provide intense hop flavor and aroma. This allows brewers to effectively dose large amounts of alpha acids and oils without introducing harsh flavors or plant material. Cryo Hops® pellets can be used wherever whole leaf hops and hop pellets are traditionally utilized.
