Our selection wouldn't be complete without WLP001 California Ale Yeast® from White Labs, the first yeast strain produced in San Diego in 1995. This strain is very popular and is used in some of the world's best beers with rich hop profiles. WLP001 is renowned for its clean flavors and robust fermentations and is especially sought after for producing beers with prominent hop flavor. It is known for enhancing hop flavors and aromas and has strong fermentation capability, even in high-gravity beers. With higher attenuation than average, it produces dry beers, and its medium flocculation leaves a clean and fresh taste. With abundant yeast addition, WLP001 is also quick in diacetyl reabsorption. This strain is suitable for almost any ale style, from IPAs to porters and kölschs, making it an ideal versatile strain for brewing. We now offer it in dry form.
