Foamsol™ is a thermostable antifoam agent based on silicon, designed to effectively regulate foam during the entire brewing process. This easy-to-use solution works efficiently with additions of just 0.5-10 ml/hl. It is added directly to the wort kettle, whirlpool during pitching, or to the fermenter during wort transfer. Diluting Foamsol before adding it helps dispersion and increases its effectiveness.
Foamsol™ reduces the surface tension of the liquid, preventing the formation of large foam heads. Excessive foaming can lead to significant losses of foam-forming proteins and alpha acids, as they cling to the walls of the vessel or spill onto the floor. By using Foamsol™, you can increase the fill volume by up to 20% and improve alpha acid utilization by up to 15%.
Foamsol is effectively removed by adhering to the walls of yeast cells, so it has no negative impact on beer foam. Also, due to the low addition in relation to yeast growth during fermentation, refoaming is not an issue.
